Park cleanup

To the editor:

The Friends of Rosa Hartman Park Inc. would like to extend a sincere "thank you" to the city of Stamford, Keep Stamford Beautiful and all of the volunteers who made our May 5 cleanup event a success.

The effort by the volunteers from Greenwich and Stamford combined with the city succeeded in removing 50 tons of litter and debris. Approximately 100 volunteers working with the city's tree-maintenance and lawn-mowing crews powered the cleanup effort.

The park is now open dawn to dusk, seven days a week. Located on Brown House Road behind Sports Plex, the park offers a well-marked system of walking, jogging and hiking trails.

Come visit and enjoy the beauty this public park has to offer.
