Environmental Education Program
Stamford is one
of the many cities that recognizes that resources expended to cleanup
litter, illegal dumping, marine debris and environmental pollution
could be better spent on other critical services. The speed with
which Stamford’s population is growing also lends urgency
to the need for ongoing environmental education efforts and prevent
environmental pollution of all types and all levels.
Our schools
play a major role in cultivating the capacity of students to work
individually as well as cooperatively to improve environmental conditions
locally. Keep Stamford Beautiful assist classroom teachers in developing
elementary, middle and high school community action projects to
facilitate environmental awareness and stewardship to students.
